I finished this in 2 days! It’s Polly from Kim Hargreaves’ Thrown Together. I used 6 skeins of Cascade 128 in a charcoal gray. I love this yarn, it’s soft and dense, the weight is perfect for the cardi…the back doesn’t ride up.

Using up a lot of koigu and other fingering weight sock yarns. I have 3 shades of blindingly hot pink koigu that belong in this project.This will take a while… 22 blocks out of ~460 so far. I’m using some blocks from the 200 crochet block book, but cutting out a few of the last rounds.

changed a few things. body count was off so i added 8 sts for the cable to work and make it less clingy…also didn’t change needle size except for buttonband/neckedge. added extra sets of decreases spaced farther apart on sleeves, made them longer, then did a 3×3 rib for cuff. added 6 buttonholes up the front.

Baby Poo! This sweater was poo, huge pet peeve of mine is when cables don’t line up with the ribbing below. I charted out some cables I found in the Barbara Walker book and got them to line up with the ribbing through the rib to body increases. Also I found the cables in the pattern harder to do without a cable needle, so I’m glad I switched out those.
Rowan Handknit cotton is like knitting with kitchen twine. I’m happy with how it came out though and the gift seemed to be well received.

Henry is turning out to be a big mushy mush. Bobby is all play and all food all the time, as well as plotting his escape from my room. This morning, at some ungodly early hour…I heard something fall, and woke up to find Bobby on the floor standing next to a ceramic celery dish (yes, I have a celery-shaped dish in my room! I like to collect stuff like this) BROKEN. I can find another dish on ebay, so at least Bobby was okay. I go back to sleep, and wake up again with both kittens sleeping on me. They just learned how to get on to my bed.
Henry is so much like his Uncle Whiskers…he hopped up on my knee before and I quickly snapped a pic (excuse the crotch shot, ha)….
now here’s his uncle, Mr. Whiskers from a few months ago…
Bobby would like to add, that he too can join in on the heart fur patterns that his brother Henry has (post below this one) and Paige’s bunny, Cinnamon.
Bobby got a chin rubbing before and after this picture was taken, obviously.
Because this is a knitting blog and not a kitten blog (surprisingly..) Here’s my latest project, the Slouchy Cover Up from a Rowan Studio booklet. I’m getting closer to finishing the back, I have about 3″ to go. It’s double stranded Kidsilk Haze in Anthracite. The pattern called for 6 balls for the smallest size and right now it looks like I can get away with 5.
